Hello, I have the free NX client and server from NoMachine.

They don't support their freeware. Does anybody know where i can get
help?

Thanks.

Hi, thanks. Unfortunately we have the free versions of NX, and they
don't support them. I looked for a newsgroup but only found the freenx
mailing list, which doens't really deal with NX. Thanks tho.

On that page that Curt gave you a link to, there is a search field. I
found it very substantial and informative. Are you using the Suse 1.5
version of NX? If so you have to load an older version of the Windows
NXclient (1.5) as the latest version will give you an error.

Having just set up NX on two different machines, a real trial until I
figured out the problem, perhaps I can help answer some questions you
might have. You might also do a search of this newsgroup for Vahis'
excellent setup guide for NX. It is a step by step guide that a novice
(and I are one concerning NX) can follow rather easily.

Thanks you very much for the offer of help, I sure appreciate it. But,
I figured out what was wrong (BTW we use the 2.0 free stuff on both
ends). I went and got the IP address of the machine in the lab, and
tried that from home. Both SSH and NX connected just fine. With my
previous XP machine at home, the host name worked, but I needed the IP
for the new machine. I guess that means the host table needs updating
on the new machine and I've got a clue about how to do that. But what
confuses me is I never added the linux box to the host table of the
old PC, so I don't know how it ever worked with just the hostname.
But, as long as I can connect now, I'm OK.
Many thanks.
