Hello

Can someone please tell me if it is possible to find the CD Key from
Win Xp. I have 9 PC's all with XP home and 9 little labels with the CD key
on, the problem is that the labels where not stuck on the PC's but arrived
in a little box. I now have to re-install one of them due to a hard drive
failure and don't know which CD Key to use.

Thanks

If the computer still runs, download the Bel Arc Advisor
from www.balarc.com It will scan and return the numbers you
need.

You can find the Product key with any of these:

ViewKeyXP www.webtree.ca/windowsxp/ViewKeyXP.exe

AIDA32 http: www.aumha.org/freeware.htm

Magical Jellybean www.magicaljellybean.com/keyfinder.shtml

Belarc Advisor www.belarc.com/free_download.html

Belarc Advisor
AIDA32

Both will show product keys. Just be careful to discern the product key
(for install) from the product ID (generated *from* the product key).

Hello

Thank you all very much for your help. I already have a copy of
Aida32, never knew it would give me the product key. Oh well - when all else
fails read the manual.

Thanks again

get the free Everest Home edition from
http://www.lavalys.com/index.php?page=product&view=1
which is an excellent general System Info tool, and its Operating System
- Operating System page will tell you the one used

Note that if the machine came with XP installed, this will probably give
a key used in producing an original image, then cloned to all machines
they make. If your machines all give the same answer and does not match
any of the labels, then this is what has happened, and it is not the
one for a reinstall. But then the key label *ought* to have been
fixed to the machine's case.
