I got a strange problem, I have a P4 2G, 256 MB DDR ram,
after installing my XP, when I go to add/remove programs
in administrator account or even any other account I never
find UNINSTALL XP though I saw it on other systems, can
you tell me why & what to do to get it on my system ??
Thanks

Hi

How have you installed XP? If you performed a 'clean' install there will be no Add/Remove option. If you performed an 'upgrade' install you would have had to opted to save the files from the previous version of Windows for there to be an entry in Add/Remove.

hi

can you give me some more information regarding this.

if you have upgraded the operating system and durign the
upgrade you have selected the option for create a
directory for uninstall information. its then that you'd
see this option.

if you have made a fresh installation this option will not
be available for you.

The only other thing I can think of to try if you did an
upgrade from 98/Me is to click on start/run and type in
osuninst.exe and hit ok.

If you upgraded from an NT based operating system then
the uninstall will not be available. All the other posts
on here are right on the money as well.

Greetings --

If you performed an upgrade from Win98/Me, elected to backup the
old system files, and didn't convert the partition to NTFS, then all
you need do is boot into Safe Mode and Start > Control Panel >
Add/Remove Programs. All of these conditions _must_ be met for the
uninstall option to be available.
