When I click COPY or press PrtScrn then I get an image on the
clipboard.

I can paste this image as a CLP file. But where is that CLP file
being kept?

(I want to get another utility to use the CLP file for input.)

Until you paste it, it's all held in memory.

Hi.

If you want to keep your copied clips I recommend "Clipmate". This allows
you to copy and paste any amount of items in any order by visibly storing
them. Take a look here www.thornsoft.com It costs about $35 but you can try
it for 30 days. I've used it for years and now I would have a hard time
working without it.

Best wishes,

Ed

When you Cut or Copy that is saved in clipbrd.exe.

From ClipBook Viewer HELP:
[[When you cut or copy information from a program, it is moved to the
Clipboard and remains there until you clear the Clipboard or until you cut
or copy another piece of information. The Clipboard window in ClipBook
Viewer shows the contents of the Clipboard. You can paste the information
from the Clipboard into any file as often as you like. However, the
information is only stored on the Clipboard temporarily.
Using ClipBook Viewer, you can cut or copy information from another program
and store it in a page that you can name, save, use again, and share with
others. ]]

From ClipBook Viewer HELP:
[[To save the contents of the Clipboard to a file
In ClipBook Viewer, click the Window menu, and then click Local ClipBook.
On the File menu, click Save As.
In Save in, navigate to the folder where you want to save the file.
In the File name box, type a name for the file you want to save.
Click Save.

Note
The default extension for a Clipboard file is .clp. ]]

To open ClipBook Viewer [Clip Board]...
Start | Run | Type: clipbrd | Click OK

clipbrd.exe is the Windows NT ClipBook Viewer or Clipboard.

If you do a Save As from clipbrd.exe, My Documents comes up as the default
save location for the .clp file. .clp files are NT Clipboard Files.

Thanks Wes, I was looking for that info out of curiosity, too.

If you want to use the Clipboard without the Start | Run bit, just add a
shortcut to clipbrd.exe on your Start Menu or somewhere.
