WHERE IS MY SCREENSAVER

Whether my screensaver is set to come on after 1 minute, 1 hour or anyhting
in between 7 times out of 10 it wont come on...it's almost as if it
forgets...I am using Windows XP Pro SP2...thanx in advance for any help.
 
This is regular problem if you use a microsoft wireless mouse or keyboard
and the Media 05...most forums have reported it. There isnt a fix as
yet but a couple of ways around it

On mine if I go to msconfig/startup and untick "ehtray" my screensaver will
work until I start the media centre 2005

I dont use a cordless mouse or keyboard...could the anti-virus and or adawre programs or perhaps some other Windows program(s) be causing the problem...thanx

I found your problem. If you have installed a Microsoft Wireless Desktop,
there is a program that interferes with it that is running in the background,
called "Ehtry.exe". Do START, RUN, Msconfig. Go the STARTUP tab, and
uncheck the first item in the list, Ehtry.exe. Then restart your machine.
Your screensaver and associated power otpions will now work again. This is a
program that comes with Media Center Edition 2005, and is not really
required. Hope this helps.
