where is active deskop in XP?

let's try this again. Where did the link to turning on the active desktop go
in XP? It's not under display properties that I can see nor on the
right-click menu for the desktop.

Don't think there is one. I can't see it, anyway and as XP is based on NT
that didn't HAVE active desktop (AFAIK.....)

The Desktop is "Active" - the ability to place Web content directly there is
still available on the Display applet ... Desktop(tab) ... Customize Desktop
(button) ... Web (tab)

The desktop in XP is Active at all times. Display - Desktop - click
Customise button - Web page allows you to select what Active content to
have there (including 'none' by unchecking everything; but setting that
does not mean turning off AD) and to Lock such items in place
