where did all the printers go?

Bill H.

When he opens up an email in OE 2003, and does a File|Print, only one
printer is listed, even though may are installed.

I discovered there is something with the "memo" and "table" mode that is
going one, but can't figure it out.

He needs to be able to just do a File|Print (or click on the printer icon)
and have the usual selection of printers.

What is going on?

Thanks.

Is printing working right for everything else?
Note - there's no such thing as OE2003 - there's Outlook Express 4, 5, 6,
and there's Outlook - two different beasts. OE questions should be posted in
OE groups:

microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie5.outlookexpress for OE 5.x
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie55.outlookexpress for OE 5.5x
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie6_outlookexpress for OE 6.x

And see www.insideoe.com

Sorry. So used to typing "OE." :-(

I meant Outlook 2003, as part of Office 2003.

Yes, on another Outlook 2003 install, the printers work fine.

Here's what I can remember.

Call up an email.

Go to File, Print and the print dialog menu comes up.

In the "Print Style" section, there are two entries. One is "Memo Style"
and the other "Table Style."

It always comes up with Memo Style selected, and the Priner dropdown shows
only ONE printer, whatever is set as the default printer, and thus no other
printers may be selected.

If we click on the Table Style in the Print Style box, then all the printers
come back.

But since I don't know the difference between Table Style and Memo Style
(which prints the email message as it appears on the screen?) I don't know
what question to ask next. Presuming the answer is Memo Style, how to I get
the printers back?

Does that help?

Thanks.

Try updating your printer drivers.

Do you mean for me to reinstall the printers?

Same drivers used on all the office computers.

I'm confused.

Thanks.

Just update the existing drivers for the printer(s) with the latest ones
from the mfr's website.
