I tried to get the latest version of IE from Microsoft but all I could
find was the SP 1 for it. Does anyone know where I can get the latest
version of Internet Explorer?

Thanks!

The latest stable version IS IE6 SP1,

IE7 is still in beta.. wait a while

when they say SP1 it is actually all of IE and not only a patch or update.

Have in mind that if you use XP you should install SP2 that includes IE6SP1

Wrong.

If this is a computer he depends on for work he SHOULD NOT try IE7.

The reason is that the browser itself may work fine, but other programs
that depend on IE technology may be affected, and since IE is beta they
cannot get support.

If you dont use the pc for work you can go ahead and try it.

Is this fact or supposition? I have at least a hundred programs
installed including OfficeXP and there have been zero problems.

A list of affected programs would be good.

there was a problem with trillian but trillian released a patch...
Have head about various other things like toolbars for programs like
systran (a translator program) and others to have problems getting the
toolbar back..
these toolbars are important for some people.

What I say is what they always say with beta products...
imagine how much so when your are installing something that so many
other apps depend on like IE.

Interesting..

I can wait.. I use avantbrowser that has everything IE7 has and more...
and FF for my second browser...

I have IE7 on a Vista test machine, I can always use RDP to log onto
that....

I agree, I use FF as my main and Avant/Opera for other uses.
