I copied my Macros to our network server because I had to reinstall my
operating system, thus my MS Office, too. I can't seem to find the macros
again. Any suggestions? The macro folder seems to be empty.

There is no macro folder. Are you sure you are talking about Word?
Macros are stored in templates. For more on the different kinds of
templates, tabs on the file new dialog, and locations of templates folders

What macro folder? Macros are stored in templates and add-ins; in normal.dot
unless you've chosen to put them elsewhere.

What exactly did you copy to your network server? And did you copy it back
again to the same place?

I dragged & dropped the icons from the desktop into our F: or network drive.
I then dragged & dropped them back after I reinstalled the operating system
in that one PC. I also had to reinstall MS Office 2003, of course, but our IT
guy thought all of the Word settings would have transferred back. None of the
fonts, margins, or anything transferred back. That's why I'm thinking maybe
all of the macros or templates are gone, too. Does that seem right?

"the icons from the desktop" doesn't tell us what you copied. We can't see
your desktop.

The icons on the desktop are only shortcuts to start the programs. They
don't contain any of the customizations, most of which are stored in
templates (especially the Normal.dot template) and some of which are (or
were) in the registry. The IT guy was completely wrong. None of that stuff
is automatically transferred. And unless you had a backup, reinstalling
Windows has permanently wiped it and you'll have to start from scratch.

Here's some required reading, for you and for the IT guy:
