When playing Computor Game Diablo II Computor Lock Up

Hi Everyone
I hope someone can help me I am getting problems with a game I never had problems with before, when i play Diablo II on battlenet anytime I open my inventory or sell to npc at random times my computor completely freezes up, I cannot do a soft boot and have to completely shut off and turn back on ,when I check events finder I see two messages one is this;

I have used this game before without any problems its only been recently this started and I am wondering if it has something to do with one of the automatic updates my computors downloads from Microsoft? I have been looking and searching at the help center for a clue but find nothing to specfy what is happening ,alot of stuff I dont understand as I admit I am not as computor savvy as I should be, if someone would be so kind to give me a clue I would appericate it.

If you suspect a recent update, try an earlier restore point..

Grizz,I have been playin Diablo since day 1,after being

of for 1 yr and now using xp only prob Im having is
missing reg key ,hav legit copy,there are a lot of map
hacks now that are causing blizzard sum concern,and also
with the new adds on LOD there seems to be a lot of
lag,sujest Blizzard Ent.for info
