Are you telling me my mouse is bad???

There is no "return key" on a mouse. There are no *keys* on a mouse.
"Key" means KEYBOARD.

And, yes, obviously mice do go bad. They are mechanical input devices
(you move it around, you press on buttons, there are switches, wheels,
etc.).

If you have problems with the mouse, you could always replace it with
another one that you "borrow" from soemone so as to test. If the
"newer" mouse works correctly, then buy a replacment mouse.

First, the OP has to learn the difference between the "Return key" and
the mouse buttons.

After that, it's time to tackle more involved concepts.

Seriously, you can adjust both mouse button and keyboard key sensitivity
in the pertinent Control Panel applets.
