n when i touch my CPU my system goes to hang
so help me regarding this problem

Hi,

What's mean 'touch CPU' ? so you cant do anything in normal mode ?

This file is an spyware. Try in safe mode (f8 when system starts) and then
launch Run -> msconfig -> Startup tab and uncheck 'clc' entry or this which
is releated to clc.exe

If "touch my CPU" means that you touch the case for your computer and it
causes an error, expect an electrical short somewhere. Static electricity
problems you would recognize. But not as easy to recognize - touching the
computer provides a "ground" and a change in the PC behavior. Odd problem
if that's what it is.

The other possible meaning that I can think of for "touch my CPU" would be
using your mouse or keyboard. If you are waking the system from sleep and
getting this error, the system is not returning from sleep gracefully. As
devices wake from sleep, drivers and associated programs re-engage.

CLE.EXE is erring and producing an error message. CLE.EXE is a portion of
the ATI Catalyst driver package. It provides the fancy Catalyst control
panel for tweaking your ATI settings. Personally, I never install this as
it often produces errors on my system too. Instead I install the basic
driver package. It doesn't give the fancy Catalyst screen but it does add
ATI settings in Display Properties.

So you have a choice:

1) check for an updated driver package from ATI. Maybe a newer Catalyst
version has this error fixed.

2) uninstall the current driver package and install the basic drivers
(minus the fancy Catalyst control panel)

The last time I was at the ATI site, it was difficult to find a package
that did not include the Catalyst control panel. If that happens or if you
just prefer having it and need to avoid the CLE.EXE error - skip putting
the system in sleep state. You can use "always on" and still turn off the
monitor after X minutes (preserves backlight if you have a LED monitor).
Not a perfect option but one that will reduce your stress level until a
Catalyst package without errors shows up at the ATI site.

Someone else mentioned CLE.EXE as malware. I've always seen it as a part of
ATI (ok) but can't rule out the malware possibility (not okay). If you do
not have ATI hardware, definitely check your system for malware. If you do
have ATI hardware... aww, heck. Check it anyhow. Never hurts to be extra
cautious where possible malware is concerned.

when i touch CPU case i don't get electrical shock but my system going to be
hang after some time..
if you thing it is due to ESD (Electric static discharge) then i got shocked
but i don't get.

Hi,

1. Start your computer in safe mode:

3. If you open it go to Startup tab and uncheck application which causes
error

Hi,

Actually we talk about CLC.EXE not CLE.EXE which in fact is part of ATI
drivers.

You're right. Not enough coffee! I have no idea what CLC is. If it's
spyware, cleaning that up first would be the way to go. Sometimes other
problems miraculously disappear when that junk is gone.

No. I wasn't referring to ESD. I was referring to you providing a ground
for the system by touching it. You wouldn't necessarily feel anything if it
was a passive grounding. This action shouldn't cause the system to do
anything.

You're posts are not very clear. We, well - myself anyhow - don't fully
understand what you mean by touching your CPU. Maybe you could try
re-wording this?

Before you said it causes a hang. Now you're saying "after some time."
Which is it? If it's after some time: how much time and what happens
between "touching" and the hang? Are you using the computer or... what?

Regardless of the above details, you still have a repeating error for a
file that is noted as spyware. You need to get that cleaned up - off of
your system.

Do a Google search for CLC.EXE and you'll find a myriad of links to
discussions about this malware. Most current antivirus and anti-malware
programs will get rid of this thing. In fact, one of the side symptoms of
this crummy things is it locks up the system (hangs). Once it's gone,
people report their system is running normal again.

cpu has no fan?
