When i post to public folders, they appear as posts, not as mail items

How can i change this ? Because users cannot work properly with the items.
Such as forwarding etc.

Thanx

Peter

Define "work properly". Posts are forwardable, except if using OWA.

You can email messages to the folder and if the server is configured
properly, they will be email, not posts. Or you can use a program to change
the message class... otherwise, outlook can only post posts to the folders.

The users want to work with the exact situation as they work with normal
mailboxes.
So, they want emailitems defined as email items.

You said that if the server is configured properly they appear as email.
HOW can i change this ?

And which program can i use the change to change the class ?

Thanks

Peter

What version of Exchange? Either way, it is as-designed, but you can change
it by obtaining the hotfix from PSS (free call for hotfixes) and applying
the registry change mentioned in the KB article.

How about in OWA? I'm running into a similiar problem. After I threw in the
registry entry regarding the conversion to IPM.Post to IPM.Note Outlook 2003
sees everything just fine. However, when I view the same mail enabled public
folder within OWA, everything shows up as posts and I have no option to
forward.

Thanks in advance!

Can anyone confirm this is the case. I have to use front and backend servers
to be able to forward a message from a public folder in OWA 2003?
