When I drag & drop a file (jpeg or any file) to the desktop from My Pictures
in My Documents, it is then hidden on the desktop. All of the other Icons are
there and usable. The reason I believe this is the case, is when I try to
duplicate the action with the same file (picture), I'm asked if I want to
overwrite the same existing file. I asked a few guru's and they don't know
what to do and have never had this happen. It's a new one to me....
If I right clic on the desktop and click the "undo paste" option it removes
the file that is unseen....

Assuming that the desktop is not overcrowded and there is room for adding
icons ... After dropping the image file to the desktop, try pressing F5 or
right click and select Refresh.
