whats with the SPAM??

ive heard rumblings about SPAM being generated from
posting here, is this true??

i thought the highlight of those spam messages was well
and truly over... some ppl are just sad i guess
 
Notice that most people have a bogus e-mail address when posting on usenet.
This is the reason. Spamming bastards scrape e-mail addresses from usenet.

not only do spammers harvest addresses, but the swen virus and others also
grab addresses from news postings. this can lead to you getting bombarded
with virus laden fake windows patches.
 
Up until a week ago, I had received zero of them. Now I receive a few a
day. I hate the Internet. ;]

From what i can gather thare a programs that can automatically harvest
email addresses from the headers in usenet. simply put a false email
like i (and many others) have to prevent this happening to you
