what's up with Windows Components Wizard

trying to remove things like MSN Explorer and Outlook Express with the
Windows Components Wizard. and it reads " To add or remove a component,
click the checkbox..." what the..Hello? do you check to leave it , do you
check to remove it ?
this is the most unintuitive confusing thing I've seen, does anyone proof
read this stuff?

Nearly everyone has understood this, but for you, for about 20 years. Tick is install untick is uninstall.
 
If the box is checked, the component is already installed so un-check it to
uninstall it or leave it as is if there's no change, then click "Apply" or "OK"
etc.
