What's the deal with System Restore it never works any more

I really could have used System Restore a couple times that past few
months on several machines.

But it NEVER works.

I used it long ago on a couple machines and it worked great.

Lately (perhaps after SP2) it just never works.

Work on my sisters laptop I uninstalled a small program that is on in
the "recovery CD" and I can't put it back with out recoveryong the
whole PC. System Recover had done a save for that uninstall and it
refuses to work. WHY !!!

Wat breaks it, what corrupts it.

SR isn't perfect sometimes breaks unfortunately, you have to turn it off,
reboot and reenable it to get it working again.
You don't say what you uninstalled, but perhaps it was in a hidden
partition that SR doesn't monitor ?.

Come to mention it......mine never seems to work either. I thought I
had screwed up.
Sorry to say this, mswlogo, but I am glad I'm not the ONLY one. :-) In
the older Win's one had a new "recovery" point whenever Win Media
Player was re-installed. Now nothing happens. :-(
 
I uninstalled MSN Outlook Connector.

It does not matter what I did. I guess once it's broken all future
state is broken for good unless it's reset as described. It was broken
before I did the uninstall apparently.
