Hello I have posted this question before, but then found myself unable to
reply to peoples answers, so I am posting the original again and also my
reasons behind it.

What type of file is the tempory internet files folder? How does it keep
updating with all the pages that you view on the net? I tried copying it and
it just copied what was in it at the time of being copied, but did not update
when I went on the web like the original file does.

The reason that I want to copy it (and then put the copy somewhere else on
the computer as a hidden file) is so that I can supervise what pages are
being viewed on the internet. I am trying to do it this way instead of
looking at internet history or the temporary internet file folder as I think
that the unsuitable sites may be getting deleted.
I am not sure if this is the best way to go about it, what I am trying to
achieve is to be able to check what pages have been viewed without them
knowing that I am checking up on them.

This is a horrible way to "go about it". Get a hardware or software router
or firewall device with a log function and use it instead.

What you're talking about is browsing forensics. You might like to read this
SecurityFocus article, which discusses how to retrieve browsing history.
