what memory card is compatible with windows xp?

i bought a pny memory card for my digital camera so that
i could save more pictures. it works fine with my camera
and i thought everything was great until i wanted to view
them on my laptop. i can't. the computer didn't even
recognize that there was a memory card!
i couldn't figure out what the problem was. i plugged in
the camera to another computer and could see the pictures
fine, so i thought it was perhaps my laptop. today, i
plugged a different digital camera with a memory card and
i could see all of the pictures.
the memory card in this camera was 32MB and mine is 64MB,
could this make a difference?
is the memory card i have just not compatible?
can anyone suggest perhaps some brands that might work
better.
i'm at the end of my rope!
