what is windows doing when its displaying the WindowsXP logo and the 3 bars are scrolling across the

Does anyone know what processes windows is going through when it is on
this screen? I have a computer that starting taking longer and longer
to load and now those 3 bars scroll across the screen 54 times before
that logo disappears. on my other pc it takes 5. I am wondering what it
is searching for or waiting for. I have tested the hard drive and the
memory and both are fine. I've ran sfc, am 100% sure there are no
viruses or spyware, etc etc.

Just trying to figure out what is failing or going to fail. Thanks!
 
You can see and disable a part of them running msconfig:
-you will have options to disable some start-up items and a some
non-microsoft services.
-Before disable a item be sure you know what is doing the item, because if
you disable something wrong you may have problems with operating system
-If is done properly you can load operating system 10-50 seconds, depending
 
Try Start run, msconfig, BOOT.INI and put a tick in the /SOS, now you
may watch it. Remove the tick when you are done.
