What is Win.RAR?

I uploaded some wedding pictures from my sons wedding, then got this
window saying i could do this for 40 days, then have to pay a
registration fee.(from Win.RAR) What is this about?
 
WinRar is a archive program(Like Winzip but better) and it is shareware.
That means you can use it for 40 days then you have to Pay or Uninstall it
(I am using it for more than 50 days without paying. I dont know how..).
You can easily use other program if that expires.

FWIW, RAR stands for "Resource Adapter Archive." Sort of an awkward
name for a program, like an old car starting: rraaar, rrrrraaaar,
rrRAR!
