What is used in place of signatures when signees are not availabe

I have a letter that needs to go out, However since the authors are in a
location different from mine they say that I can just use /s/ in place of
their signatures. I cannot find this anywhere to tell me what the correct
code is to use in place of signatures. Usually the authors initials and
they typists initials to on the letter, but they are syaing that S// OR //S//
OR /S/ WILL SUBSTITUTE FOR THIR SIGNATURES.. do you know what it is?

That's something local to your workplace. You will have to ask them.

But yes, chances are if you are using the correct company template, and you
type /s/, it will automatically expand to their signature.
