Running XP SP2

I checked my start-up memo and found %systemroot%memory.dmp

I looked it up in Google and the consensus is to disable it in startup.

However, when I take out the checkmark and reboot, the checkmark is right
back.

Computer runs fine. How do I get rid of this start-up item?

Actually, the related Startup Item is called dumprep 0 -k

You can disable the option to write a dump file in "my
computer">properties>advanced tab>startup and recovery>settings>sytem
failure> write debugging info> select none and ok but the file is useful
should your system crash.
