I read one of the discussions. If there's no use for the nickname field, then
why is it being given? Give things that are usefull and not useless. You have
19 telephone contact fields. But how many are really usefull?

It's simply to store the nickname of a person in case you can't remember it.
It's not used for name resolution.

It does not work with outlook 2003. If it does then do help me with the same.
i guess it can be used for mailing, calling a contact, etc.
