In Access in office 2002, the filter by partial selection doesnt actually
filter by partial selection but instead will filter by all the data in the
cell.
example if I highlight the letters "US" from the word "USA" and then "filter
by selection - the filter will only return results that contain "US" instead
of all the words that contain "US" , such as "USA" or "USER" etc.
This is a major problem for me and I cant find a solution.
Any Advice would be appreciated.
Thanks

Right Click in cell
In the Filter By box, enter: US* , just like you would in a regular query.

Thanks for the reply Steve really appreciate it. I took your advice and it doesn't seem to work - if I type in US* in the "filter for" box (there doesn't seem to be a "filter by" box ) in a column that has usa, user, usa . etc the only record returned is "US" . any other ideas would be greatly appreciated.
