Tell us the bit after the @ in your email address please.

Server names do not belong to an email program, they belong to a
specific mail service provider. Who provides your mail service? Or to ask
that question a different way, what is the part of your email address
after the @ symbol?

You would need to contact your ISP or your email provider for this
information. But, if you could provide us with the information after
the @ in your email address, I am sure one of us here will be able to
assist you as well. That is, providing you buy whoever helps ya a six
pack :D LOL! Just kiddin' :)

Help..I need to know too. I can't send mail. Yes, I;m new!

I am assuming this is for your GMail account? If so, the settings can
be found on the GMail help page.

See my response to "tracy" which was posted about two hours before your post.

US-based free Yahoo accounts have webmail access only, no POP access.
Windows Mail handles POP mail but not Yahoo webmail.
Yahoo's solution is to pay Yahoo for premium "Mail Plus" service:
http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/original/mailplus/overview/index.html
and use the special settings for that service:
http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/original/mailplus/pop/pop-14.html

If you are OK with using a non-Yahoo email address, you have these other
solutions that will work with Windows Mail:
* Use the email address assigned to you by your ISP.
* Use a free Gmail, AOL, or Hotmail/Live account.

If you need more help with any of these solutions, just ask.

I use yahoo for regular mail. I have tried everything. Signed up for gmail -
didn't work either. Put in pop.gmail.com for "Incoming" and smpt.gmail.com
for "outgoing". Do I have to check the box? This is crazy trying to fix this.
Thanks

US-based free yahoo accounts won't work with Windows Mail. You need to
either pay for the premium service or use YPOPs.

Which box? All of the correct settings have to be used, yes. Those
settings are available from the mail provider.

It's actually very easy if you follow the rather clear directions provided
by gmail.
