I'm trying to migrate my old Win98/Outlook express email
system to WinXP/Outlook. I don't know what the file is
called which stores all the email I have saved over the
last few years...

.
It will either be a xxx.pst or a xxx.ost. Do a search on
your hard drive for *.pst and it will show you where your
file is located.

This is a group to support Outlook from the Office group of programs.
Outlook Express is a part of Internet Explorer and is a quite different
program despite its similar name..

You will probably get a faster and more expert answer if you post this to an
outlook express news group.

Try posting in one of these newsgroups:
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie5.outlookexpress for OE 5.x
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie55.outlookexpress for OE 5.5x
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie6_outlookexpress for OE 6.x

A good website for information on OE is:
http://www.tomsterdam.com/

Please note that the OP was asking about OE, not Outlook. PST/OST does not
apply.

You don't know what you're talking about, Corrine. Since the OP has been
using Outlook Express, his old messages are in .DBX files, not .PST or .OST
files. READ what people post before replying.
