What is the fastest assuming that I know which page I want to go ? Do
I have to page up/down or select from sorter ? Is there a way to get a
pop-up windows and type in the page, then press enter ? Thanks.

But I'm not in a slide show. So I should go to slide show, goto slide
and exit slide show ?

But even then, I don't have a entry box that lets me type in the
number, I still have to scroll to the page, then exit slide show.
No other simpler way ?

Ah. How to go to a particular slide quickly while in slide show view is a
fairly frequently asked question. And since we can't see what you're seeing
there...
But even then, I don't have a entry box that lets me type in the
number, I still have to scroll to the page, then exit slide show.

I think the simplest, fastest way to move to a specific slide in regular
editing mode is to use the scroller on the right. It will list the slides in
a tool tip as you scroll so you can stop at the correct one.

Perhaps even faster is to use the slide thumbnail pane on the left to scroll
to and select the appropriate slide. It will show up in the main pane when
you select it in the thumbnail pane.

Another option is to hit the icon at the lower left to move to slide sorter
view. Double-click on the slide in the sorter view to take you back to that
slide in normal edit mode.

So I guess there is no such feature that I'm hoping for. Able to just
type in the page and press enter. THanks.

Check the Jumper add-in out (I just wrote it for fun.)
http://billdilworth.mvps.org/Add-ins.htm

It allows you to do what you want (kinda) by adding a button under the tools
menu that jumps to a slide in the edit view. The keyboard shortcut
'Alt+T' 'Alt+J' 5 {enter} will jump you immediately to slide 5.

This will not save much time on a presentation under 50 slides, but could be
useful if you have several hundred. Of course, if you have several hundred
slides, I'd be doubtful you could remember all the different slide numbers
to jump to (but that is your call, not mine).

Enjoy,

Bill, I downloaded and put the add-in into the ppt add-in folder. From
ppt, I navigate to the add-in option and selected the downloaded
add-in. But when I exit the selection window, the add-in is not added
to ppt.

How I intend to use this ? I am looking at a 300-400 ppt. I need to
do cross reference.. that is to say, I remember I read something like
this earlier. Then I take down the number of the current page and
check the previous pages. Then I want to return to the "current page".
I don't want to scroll through so many pages to find the "current
page". Thanks.

OK. Now I manage to see the add-in in ppt. However, when I try to load
it, it says "PowerPoint couldn't load the add-in Jumper. Would you
like to delete it from the list ? Yes/No.

What's your security setting from within PPT? It needs to be no higher than
medium for the add-in to work.

Security setting is the issue. Thanks Kathy.
Thanks Bill. Your add-in is EXACTLY what I wanted.
