I have a CD that was distributed by Dell with the purchase of a new PC. I
have not been able to obtain updates. Further, I have not found any reference
to "Version 2002" on the Update site.

What am I missing or doing wrong and/or fail to understand?

Office XP was the version of Office released in 2002, after Office 2000 and
before Office 2003. While the Office suite is known as Office XP, the
individual applications that make up the suite are known as 'Word 2002',
'Excel 2002', etc. The term 'Office 2002' applied to the Office XP suite is
not strictly speaking correct, but is in common use and is widely
understood. Similarly the terms 'Word XP', 'Excel XP' etc. applied to the
individual applications are not strictly speaking correct, but are commonly
used.

The Small Business Edition of Office does not include Microsoft Access,
which is the subject of this newsgroup.

Updates for Office XP are available at the following URL ...

http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/officeupdate/CD010224911033.aspx

Note that the above is the US site. If you're not in the US, you should go
to www.microsoft.com and follow the links from there to the Office Update
site. This will direct you to the correct site for your location.

As you obtained Office XP SBE bundled with a Dell PC, further assistance may
be available from Dell tech support.
