Looking over some FAQ questions regarding styles, I find that my puzzlement over why the Autoformat-as-you-type boxes are checked by default, when it is obvious that they are a complete nuisance, I find this inducemen

"So why are so many of these options switched on by default, if they cause so many problems? A good question, well worth emailing (e-mail address removed) about"

I would love to do so, however, I would like to know, whom I will be writing to. I am sure some of the good people here can give me that answer, so please - anyone?

Nevermind, I found out myself from looking at the MVP FAQ site "Tips from MVPs on posting to the Word newsgroups", which I of course should have read prior to posting here

Well, I am much the wiser now, and I am very happy to have found this plac

I'll be back!

As you have evidently discovered, (e-mail address removed) is an alias to which
you can submit suggestions for improvement of all Microsoft software. If
you're writing about Word, it's a good idea to include "Word" in the subject
line to make sure the suggestion gets to the right dev team.
