As things currently stand, it'll be some variety of "Windows Vista."
It's "promised" for the end of this year.

Sorry to have to be the one to inform you about this Richard but MS has
eliminated the BSOD.
That's right.
They changed the color so now it's the YSOD

I call it Microsoft Anal Fistula, but I think the folks at MS want
people to call it Vista.

And with all the stuff that was touted as being 'revolutionary' that they
decided not to include, it probably won't be worth the time to do the
upgrade, let alone the $$, just for some different themes.

Who knows, after it's release, maybe it will start being compared to
Millenium, not for performance or innovation, but for the 'bad' reasons.

In this case, Vista might well become known as Windows
NT 5.1.1, in a permanent beta release state.

That sounds painful...

Actually I was wrong on that post. It's the RSOD now. I'm going to upload a
copy of it to my site one of these days.

Isn't that only while its in beta? I remember the same rumor about
Windows 2000 and Windows XP. One MS employee said you'd never get a
blue screen again in Windows...because they were going to be black.

That could also be true Steve. I know that I have a copy of that I'm thinking
of using as a wallpaper on my XP partition.<g>

When I get around to putting it on my site I'll just post a link to it. I will
probably have it up by tonight.

There is no good way to post screenshots on Usenet. I have found a
pretty good workaround without having to edit your web page.

It must be nice to have time to upload to ones site ! I reinstalled a few
days ago and haven't had time to reinstall my old Dreamweaver 4 ! ...and I
bet I can't remember the settings !
