I installed the frameworks, the webmatrix of Ms and the MS sqlserver.

Now i whanted to install the store and the portal SDK but when i whanna
configure this the see that IIS is not installed.

Wat is IIS and where can i find it?
Or what do i have to do, to make it work.

Thanks in advance.

you have to have windows 2000 pro or windows xp pro.

start - control panel - admin tools - Internet Services Manager

If it's not listed there, go to ADD REMOVE PROGRAMS and look at windows
components. It can be added in there somewhere. Takes a bit to install.
keep in mind it's a service that can be started and stopped so it may not be
running by default.

You can make IIS work on Windows XP Home, but it's not supported and
requires that you have a Windows 2000 installation CD.

MS info stating that IIS / PWS aren't included in XP Home:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;q304197

A few walkthroughs of the installation steps (the same basic
procedure):
http://www.webthang.co.uk/tuts/tuts_server/iis_xph/pippo_xp.asp
http://www.15seconds.com/issue/020118.htm
http://www.iis-resources.com/modules/news/article.php?storyid=48

Since this isn't a supported setup, you're better off just upgrading to
XP Pro. I do have a friend who's been running IIS on XP Pro for a
while, though.

Haze,

IIS is not included in Home Edition of Win XP. If you really want to use MS
IIS, then you shuold upgade you OS to Win2000 Pro / Win XP Pro.
Or, you can try any other Web Server available (like Cassini - included in
ASP.NET Resource Kit CD, which you can request for free from Microsoft's
site).

Hope this helps,
andy
