What is iCalander and what the difference is with outlook live

I wold like to know what iCalander is. And does anyone know what the
difference is between Outlook live and the regular Outlook.
 
iCalendar is a format used by a number of calendar programs so that users
can share data between calendars.

Outlook Live's version is the same as Outlook 2003 that comes in the Office
standard package. It's missing things like IRM and foreign language proofing
