what is ELRYFL.exe?

I found an exe which is launched when windows starts
called ELRYFL.exe (located in c:windows). Does anyone
know what this is? It's started via a registry entry;
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/MICROSOFT/WO\INDOWS/CURRENTVER
SION/RUN/

Is it some type of spyware?

Right click on the file and check properties.
Any identifying info? Have you run the usual virus and
spyware scans?

Thanks for the assistance. yes I am running symantec's
virus scanner, and it did not flag this file as a virus.
However, I'm not aware of any spyware scans. The file
properties does not reveal any telling information, just
the create/modify date (fairly recent - 11/09/03). I
think I'm going to blow it away from the registry. I'm
not comfortable not knowing what it is.

download the excellent "spybot search and destroy 1.2"
http://www.umich.edu/~hsw/spybotsd12.exe

It's a staple of all who frequent these forums.
freeware, and it has regular updates. It will ferret out
all kinds of spyware, BHO's, cookies, hijack-related, etc.
