What is different with Macrosoft Access 2007 and Web applications

I have been using Access since v2.0 while it is a fantastic tool for creating
Windows-based office apps, it still continues to fall short on the Web
development side.

So, I keep reading on and on about how a person should choose asp.net or
some other complicated development tool to create Web apps.

Why isn't Microsoft developing a RAD tool for Web development and I don't
mean Visual Studio either.

Are there not other people there frustrated by the lack of progress in this
area?

I welcome your thoughts!!!

I have been driving a car since 1961. while it is a fantastic vehicle for
getting around, it wont fly.

So, I keep reading on and on about how a person should choose an airplane or
a helicopter or some other complicated flying vehicle.

So why isn't General Motors developing a airplane that is really easy to fly
and I don't mean the Hummer, either?

How about Front Page, Cold Fusion, Dreamweaver, etc, etc, etc.

He who owns only a hammer sees all problems as nails

Access doesn't baste my holiday turkey very well either, but I find it works
great when I use it for its intended purposes, just like my turkey baster
does.

Please pardon my being blunt, but why would desktop application developers
who can build a database app in 1/3 to 1/10 the time for a *lot* less money
with a RAD tool like Access *care* if web developers are crying about not
having a RAD tool like Access to build their web apps?

I once tried to drive an old timey radio because it looked a lot like a VW,
but it didn't really work that well.

I've never met an RPG dork. Are those the people who spend their nights
watching Jeopardy on TV at home alone with no elastic in their underwear,
eating cheese doodles?

Are you watching me?

I think my husband's cat is. She watches intently out a window in the
evenings and we thought it must be a bird's nest or something keeping her
fascinated, but we couldn't see or hear anything. Occasionally a neighbor
has his window open where she can see his TV. Since we don't watch much TV,
apparently she's decided if she wants to watch Jeopardy she needs to wait
patiently for him to open his window and turn on his TV.

If it's not too much trouble, when Jeopardy is over could you switch the
channel to Animal Planet? She enjoys watching big cats and creepy crawlies
too. Thanks. <g>

I will be happy to accomodate :)

One of my 4 weiner dogs loves Animal Planet. Here favorite shows are Breed
All About It and K 9 to 5. So Saturday mornings, I turn Animal Planet on for
her and she watches.
