Marty & Jennifer

I am very new to computers. I have windows vista & when I try to send e-mail
it says I need servers.

Hi both of you,

the server configuration takes place, when one sets up the account, thats
the pop3 or imap, currently gmail and aol offer free pop3 services were as
yahoo and hotmail/live or region bound thats at some place it is free and
others it is premium. so first open an account with the free services for
gmail go to account and enable the pop3 service then come to your windows
mail email client and put the configuration in it, use ssl, allow server
authentication, put in your complete email id, and password, you can check
the account and make changes again by going to tools and account, and try
logging on.

bye

The first step is to get an email address, if you don't already have one.
Let us know if you need help with that. If you have an email address,
what is the part after the @ symbol?

First off, you would need a server to connect to if you're using
Microsoft Outlook.

You need to be connected to a server to send and receive emails with any email
client. Not only with Outlook

Outlook is not the Windows default email client, it is not even a part of
Windows, it comes with various versions of Microsoft Office. Windows Mail is
the default email client in Windows Vista.
