what is a pointer

hi,

i have been browsing my toolbox very carefully and have encountered a
pointer object. what is this pointer? and why cant i drag it into my design
window?

This is just the symbol that allows you to "select nothing" from the
toolbox, meaning you get back the normal mouse cursor if you click it.
For example, if you click on some other control and then decide that you
don't want to put it on your form after all, you click on the pointer to
return to the normal mode where you can select existing controls instead
of creating new ones.
