Dougie!

I am on Vista 32 bit Home Premium and I can't view Japanese text in most
programs, so I was thinking about changing the system local to Japanese.
Would I also be able to view filenames and folders with Japanese characters?
Right now they appear as a bunch of garbage characters.

If I change the locale, how much text gets changed? Would it be hard to
change the local back to English (United States). o.o I could read it enough
to switch, but meh.....

Hi,

You can install support for the language, but it is limited in what it can
do. Changing your location will not change this. For full functionality in
another language you must be using an installation of Vista in that
language, or install the Language Pack for it (only available in Ultimate).
