My question is what happens to the memory in Windows XP
Professional when the computer is locked. The issue I am
running into is that a particular VB based application is
blowing up when we lock the workstation. We do not have
this problem on Win2k Pro. The application only has a
problem if you are on a particular screen that uses a
virtual list box that resides in memory. Any insight is
appreciated.

Thanks.

Nothing happens to it. What happens is that Windows
brings up what is called the "secure desktop" when you
lock the machine, and your logon session is moved to the
background, albeit still active.

There are a few different specific reasons your VB app
might crash, but you need to have the developer or the
manufacturer of the app debug it. It should be easily
reproducible based on what you mention below.
