What download do I need to open a word doc ?

Please e-mail me an answer @ (e-mail address removed). I keep getting a box that
says there is no program that supports the opening of word doc. I have tried
my Adobe reader, also,: I get the same box. Thanks pb

If you do not have Word installed, try opening the document using
WordPad.
Start + Accessories + WordPad

You should be able to open it in RTF format.

You can also try Notepad.
Start + Accessories + Notepad
 
Normally you would use MS Word. If you don't own it, you can buy it. I
believe that WordPad will open Word files and display them in a readable
format if not using all the display abilities of Word.
