Query

This is really an IE question -- related to attempting to uninstall IE6
-- but I'm not getting any response in the IE group so I thought I'd ask
here, because the name of this file makes it seem as if it's related to
Win2k.

That is, what does "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IE
Uninstall\w2kexcp.exe /u" do

And similarly, what does:

rundll32 setupwbv.dll,IE6Maintenance "C:\Program Files\Internet
Explorer\Setup\SETUP.EXE" /g "C:\WINDOWS\IE Uninstall Log.Txt"

do?

What's the difference between these two commands?

Good for you Steve. But did you actually read any of those hits? To the
extent any of them say anything about w2kexcp, it's just that you should use
that exe under some circumstances. My question is seeking info about any side
effects ("what does it do") and how it differs from the "Repair Tool"
setupwbv.dll.

Try not to be so glib.

It was just a suggestion. Yes I looked at some of the information. I
thought it might actually be helpful to you. Sorry if you thought I was
being "glib".

So much for trying to help.

Next time make sure your question asks what you need to ask. No need to
rant because someone who tried to help actually didn't...and then
redefine your question in mid-rant. Oh, and make next time somewhere
else, lil' Query.

People like Query do show up from time to time here, Steve. Happily not
often. They can really take the juice out of the day. Then, happily,
they go away.

Oh, I'm not terribly offended or hurt, but thank you. I'm no stranger to
discussion forums. I try not to get into arguments as they serve no
purpose. That doesn't mean I don't get awfully tempted sometimes :)
