can any one shed any light on this 4 me please,i am using
an original xp that came pre installed on my m/c

Type "Regedit"

Navigate to and delete the following registry key.
Be sure to export this key to a safe location first.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet
Settings\User Agent\Post Platform
 
Cannot Access Windows Update When Netscape Is the Default Web Browser
