What does the mapped/shared drive icon at the bottom of outlook m.

There is an icon in the bottom right hand corner of outlook. It looks like
what a mapped drive icon would look like except it has a red X on it. I don't
know what this is and my email isn't sending/receiving every one minute like
it's set up to do.

This means that you're in Offline mode. Click File and uncheck Work
Offline.
