What does "exclusive access" to my database mean?

I've set up a wonderful new database and built a form. Now I want to
rearrange a few things on the form to make it easier to use (alter tab order,
change things aesthetically) but I'm told that -

"You do not have exclusive access to the database at this time. If you
proceed to make changes, you may not be able to save them later."

The first time I saw this, I just ignored it - but then I discovered that I
couldn't save all the hard work I'd put into it over the past hour! Argh!

How do I get exclusive access? Do I really need it to be exclusive? It's not
sensitive information and it's only stored on my computer.

The computer thinks someone else is using the database at the same time. If
you are the only user then you might need to close Access and then delete the
..ldb file.

Thanks Karl - problem solved!
