I am worried that I infected my system--Windows XP Home--
with Swen.32 or something else. I am trying to follow the
steps with the Swen Symantic patch run, but I am not able
to open most command operating systems. In trying to open
most of the Administrator functions, I keep
getting "Windows cannot access the specified device,
path, or file. You may not have the appropriate
permissions to access the item." This command is new
today, as well as there was an error message "Memory
access violation in module kernel 32 at .........(#'s)",
when I first logged on. What do I do? Help

You're not alone... I'm trying to follow Symantec's
removal instructions to get rid of the W32/Swen@MM virus
at:

http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/w3
(e-mail address removed)

But I can't even do Step #1 (Disabling System Restore)
because I get an error dialog box pop up saying:

"Windows cannot find 'rundll32.exe'..."

Lots of people are posting similar questions but there
are few replies... maybe cause it is the weekend (?)

If I find any solutions I'll share it with the group, so
check back regularly.
