what could cause failure of all hyperlinks in emails in outlook 2.

ever since a) i intstalled symantic anti virus and b) my friend started using
the constant contact email service, my hyperlinks have failed in outlook.

when I click on them, all i get is the 'glove' no egg timer, no page opens,
and task manager says outlook is running, when in fact it hangs there till i
shut it down. when i end task it then decides it is not responding, and
sends an error report.

can you help? its driving me nuts!
