Hi,
I was checking files on my c:\ drive. I found 3 new files.
1.5fdfa3b408ffeeea8c7282a1820c9coa
2.058a9448be3d25fy41cbb1cdd1cfe78e0
3.c5f627a485870007b1ebc3334000d
4.dd4439c5e81c5ff0318cd2boa05ab3d6
In all these files are exe files to set up windows service packs 1&2
Can I delete these?
Thanks in advance.

Where were these files (folder?) located at? What are their paths?

Some setup routines will have the Windows Installer keep some setup files
around for automatic touchups. Am thinking that it's likely this is what
you're seeing but without the paths to those files/folders, can't say for
sure.

Hi,
Those files are under C:\ 5fdfa3b408ffeeea8c7282a1820c9coa
-ect... when I click onto the file-it opens and inside is an update
file and a couple of .dll files and a microsoft service pack.exe.
The rest of these are the same.
Can I remove these without a problem?
Thanks in advance.

Usually these end up a few levels deeper than C: but I believe that they
are the same as the files I mentioned before. They can be removed. If a
touchup is needed, you will be prompted for a source for the files. In this
case, you would reinstall the updates.

If you want to play it cautious, copy the files to a folder "leftovers" or
whatever name would help you to remember what these were. Then copy that
folder off to a CD and delete the local copies on the hard drive. You'll
probably never have to use that CD but if on the off chance Windows asks
for them, you'll have that CD. Or you could just reinstall the relative
updates as mentioned above.

From failed install attempts. I experienced that about a year ago.

Hi,
Should I try to reinstall them before erasing?
Thanks for your responses.

I deleted them and then reinstalled SP1 successfully!
