what are the default page margins

i changed my page margins for an assignment, and now i want them back to
normal. however, i have found that when i hit the "default" button on the
page setup screen, nothing happens. it would be greatly appreciated if
someone could tell me what the default page margins are.

In the U.S., Word's default page margins are 1" top and bottom, and 1.25"
left and right. When you click on the Default button, you are actually
changing Word's default settings to whatever is currently displayed in the
Page Setup menu.
