My computer always seems to be running the "System Idle
Process" whether its idle or not and the computer's
performace is suffering (the task manager says that its
using +90% of the cpu and it cant be stopped with the end
process button. Does anyone know what it is, and of a way
to stop them? Please email me.

Hi Nick, think about what idle means. The percentages of cpu use must add up
to 100. The idle process is showing the percentage of cpu available for use
while it's waiting to do something.

Greetings --

Break out a dictionary and look up the word "idle," sometime. The
"System Idle Process" metric is the amount/percentage of time that
your CPU has *nothing* to do. A reading of 98-99% is generally
considered a good thing, and readings above 90% are normal. Think of
it like a car's engine idling in your driveway before you place the
car in gear.

"System Idle Process" is the name for what the computer is doing when it isn't doing anything. It's just there to make the total add up to 100%
