What Are me_ files?

Anybody know what these files are in my Local Setings\Temp directory? There
are always approximately four files that begin with "me" then underscore.
They have current date stamps to my last Restart.

While I'm asking, there's also a "Perflib_" file usually in there that I
don't know about.

I can't delete these files, nor can I open them in notepad.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

you may safely delete anything in the temp folder. it will
self-regenerate as needed. my guess is that they were
created by something a while back and aren't even in use
any longer.

if windows won't let you delete those files try hitting
ctrl alt delete and shutting off whatever started up with
boot (quicktime, aim, yahoo messenger, antivirus software,
software fireall, whatever) and then deleting those files.
sometimes they're constantly in use and can't be deleted
until the program that is using them stops using them or is
shut off. many many programs use temp files.

anyway try deleting them and seeing if they return, and
seeing with what they return, and you'll know what program
creates them.
